Ethical Practice

The ethical component of counselling is an essential piece of therapy.  In British Columbia, psychologists and counsellors are governed by strict guidelines and policies as laid out by provincial law.  My practice is guided by the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors Code of Ethics (2014), and as such we will follow a moral framework comprised of ethical principals.

Confidentiality is of critical importance on your journey towards healing.  Please rest assured that what you disclose during sessions is kept strictly confidential within the limits of British Columbia law.  Confidentiality will be discussed with you during your first session, and referred to thereafter, allowing you to make the most informed decisions possible.  It is my goal to provide you with the most comfortable counselling experience possible, therefore I encourage you to ask questions throughout the entire term of counselling.  This, after all, is your opportunity to learn and grow.
